Miami Dade Fire Rescue faces a historical financial crisis and needs your help.
Here are five reasons why "Seconds Count" to you and your family.

1. Timely response is essential for positive outcomes in saving lives in emergencies.

2. Extended response times to your emergencies adversely impact the ability to rescue you and your family.

3. Without proper funding, the ability of your fire department to protect lives and property in the community will be devastating.

4. The Fire Budget was cut $57 million in 2007-08, $30 million in 2008-09, and is projected at $46 million for next year. At what point does the system break??

5. In a medical emergency involving choking or a heart attack, every 60 seconds without professional help reduces your chance of survival by 15%.

The County Commission will be voting on the Fire/Rescue budget, along with the entire budget on September 3 and 17. Let our Commissioners know that further cuts to essential services are unacceptable.
